Gallery On The Move present Bert Theis's "Potemkin Lock Venice Rap" in collaboration with The Promenade Gallery in Vlora. "Potemkin Lock Venice Rap" consists in a sound project realized for the Luxembourg Pavilion at 46th Venice Biennale 1995… a rap music with Duchamp's voice, selected for the special projects program of Gallery On The Move. Gallery On The Move starts in 2011 with Bert Theis's project, as a satellite project for contemporary art, which means that Gallery On The Move does not have its own exposition space. In order realize and present a project, Gallery On The Move collaborates with others art institutions.
Bert Theis was born in 1952 in Luxembourg. Lives and works in Luxembourg and Milan. He belongs to that generation of artists that emerged at the beginning of the 90's, that try to drop their operative strategies into public space, anchoring them to social contexts and relational modalities, without, however, removing them from the category of works of art which they are. He is the founder of Isola Art Center, Milan, Office for Urban Transformation, Milan/Mexico City and also professor at NABA Milan.
In 2009 Theis curated "Territoria 4/The Great Leap" at Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato. He has exhibited at Manifesta 2 Luxembourg, 4th Gwangju Biennale, Musée d´Art Moderne et Contemporain Geneva, Skulptur Projekte Münster 1997, 46th International Art Exhibition Venice Biennale, Casino Luxembourg, 2nd Tirana Biennale, Busan Biennial 2006, 10th Istanbul Biennial and MUDAM Luxembourg.
Gallery On The Move prezanton "Potemkin Lock Venice Rap" të artistit luksemburgas Bert Theis, në bashkëpunim me The Promenade Gallery në Vlorë. "Potemkin Lock Venice Rap" konsiston në një projekt zanor i realizuar për Pavionin e Luxembourg-ut në edicionin e 46 të Bienales së Venezia-s më 1995… një muzikë rap me zërin e Marcel Duchamp, projekt ky i seleksionuar për programin special projects.
Gallery On The Move starton më 2011 me ekspozitën e Bert Theis, si një projekt satelitor për artin bashkohor, që do të thotë se Gallery On The Move nuk disponon një hapësirë të vetën ekspozitive. Në rastin e çdo ekspozite apo projekti specifik, Gallery On The Move bashkëpunon me institucione të tjera për artin bashkohor.
Bert Theis ka lindur më 1952 në Luxembourg. Jeton dhe punon midis Luxembourg-ut dhe Milano-s. Ai i përket asaj gjenerate artistësh që filluan karrierën e tyre në mesin e viteve 90', dhe u përpoqën të integrojnë strategjitë e tyre në zemër të hapësirave publike duke i modifikuar si marrëdhënje sociale, për ti dhënë një modalitet të ri përqasjes së artistit me strukturat urbane. Theis është themeluesi i Isola Art Center Milan, Office for Urban Transformation, Milan/Mexico City dhe gjithashtu profesor në NABA Milan.
